Pick of the Picnic Pops

On The Kiosk this weekend, Nadine will be talking to award-winning poet and author Jackie Kay about her new book, Red Dust Road, which tells of her experience of adoption. Jackie Kay will be at the Mountains to Sea books festival, which kicks off in Dun Laoghaire on Sept 7th.

Philip from This is Pop Baby will be in to reveal what their tent has in store for punters at Electric Picnic this year - and we'll have a live performance from Picnic-bound group Maud in Cahoots.

Also on the live front, Yes Cadets will be performing live ahead of their gig in Crawdaddy.

Nadine will also be talking to theatre director Selina Cartmell about her plans to reinvent Medea for Dublin's Fringe Festival.

That's all on The Kiosk with Nadine this weekend – don’t miss it!

All the new season's tickets, available from The Kiosk...

On this week's Kiosk, we're looking ahead to the Autumn, with a preview of the big tech trends, the big books, and the highlights from the upcoming Dublin Theatre Festival.

Also, are ticket prices for festivals and gigs too high these days? The Kiosk has taken to the streets of Dublin to find out, and we'll be bringing you that report.

Also on the show, Nadine will be speaking to Cork-based novelist Frances Kay about her debut novel Micka - and there'll be a report from Ed Prendergast on the new Point Village:

Plus. we'll have a great competition for you as well.

That's all on this week's Kiosk - same times, same place, please do join us.

Geeks bearing gifts...

On The Kiosk this week, we'll be talking music geeks! Our panel, including Alan Corr of the RTE Guide and Daragh Anderson, lead singer of CODES, are in to talk about their favourite music geeks from the worlds of film, books, TV and theatre. Whether it's Christian Slater in Pump up the Volume, Patrick Bateman in American Psycho or Juno in Juno, The Kiosk will be trawling through the archives to pick out the very best nerds in the arts.

Plus, Nadine will be talking to author Max Decharne about the history of rockabillly - he's just published a hipster's guide. (Max is a former member of Gallon Drunk and writes for Mojo, the Guardian and The Sunday Times, amongst others.)

Also on the show, Irish author Emma Donoghue is in to tell us about Room, her Booker longlisted novel, which netted her a cool one million euro advance. And we'll have a great competition for a CD goodie bag and a copy of the new Bret Easton Ellis book as well.

All that, plus plenty of great music and more on The Kiosk with Nadine O'Regan:

Please join us!
